My experience building games

I don’t have a degree saying that I did well, so I hope you’ll settle for my portfolio of titles I have made over the past 4 years.

Bug Brutality

  • My first experience in Unity, made during a 7 week course in college where the fundamentals of Game Development was taught

  • Things I learned

    • The very basics of Unity’s UI

    • Basic (non skeleton) modeling in blender

Raea Roo

  • My first Game Jam. This title was made over 1 week within my first year of developing games

  • Things I learned

    • Simple Pixelart

    • Color Theory

    • Pixel Art animations in Unity

Refrige-Irate

  • A game built alongside a videogame development club I ran in a middle school. I tried to keep to the same amount of time as my students had (~30 hours) and made a simple platformer that they could build off of

  • Things I learned

    • Developing for a greater team

    • Focusing on simple and expandable code

Possibility of Downpour

  • Made for my second year running a game development club I decided to make a project that I could run with later on.

  • Things I learned

    • Developing expandable concepts

    • Learning about optimization improvements

Apacies: Creatures of the Old West

  • My passion project for the last 3+ years. Starting in October 2019, Apacies was my first 2d game made in unity and I have been expanding and improving its Pokemon-like gameplay for the entirety of that time

  • Things I learned

    • Keeping track of progress through consistent releases and DevLogs

    • Building up a follower base (unsuccessfully) through the use of Youtube, Patreon, and Twitter

    • Character Design

    • Coding “Simple” mechanics (a dialogue tree and quest system)

    • Balancing gameplay

    • Improving game “feel” through more interaction and importance on player input

I’d love to hear back from you. Thank you for reading up to this point!
