A creature battler set in a time with few laws and many differences of opinion.
An open world, where you can fight or befriend 4 opposing factions in order to learn the history of this new land, and hopefully prevent it from repeating itself.
Have you ever thought that pokemon needed to be more interactive? An involved world where you have to run away from a mass of creatures? Or how about a branching story-line to increase replayability?

Apacies is a 2D creature battler set in 1900ās southern Arizona. Being a very chaotic period in US history this leads the game to have a plethora of interesting side stories, and factions that the player can involve themselves with. The player will discover the hidden past of the Hohokam hidden around what is now Pima and Cochise County.
The Game
Turn Based Strategy, with a non-linear story, and a simulated ecosystem of living creatures, with a strong focus on replay-ability.
The core gameplay being that of raising your creatures to become stronger through battle, with a small threat of having them die if they lose too often
The story is comprised of 4 factions that the player can help to influence a final confrontation
which faction(s) they player chooses, will effect what the player can naturally discover in their run
100+ creatures, 250+ Moves, 80+ abilities, 49 natures
To make the game more customizable and to attach the player to their specific creature. Giving the player full control over when and what to level up on their creature.
Built in Unity
Target Platform PC, with controller support
Competition
Pokemon is my main competitor however:
It has a fan-base that seems endless in their need to collect these creatures, and develop a kinship with their teams
the games always veer towards a younger audience leaving legacy fans who want a more challenging experience, to make up their own rules and limitations to better their game experience
This combination puts Apacies in a position to attract many players who feel ignored by a massively popular title that is not aimed for their demographic.
